Pioneering sustainable tyre electro-thermic processing

Tyre electro-thermic processing technology (ETP) , offers an eco-friendly alternative to dumping and burning, turning waste into valuable resources.

A sustainable alternative to dumping & burning

Around 1.5bn ‘end of life’ tyres are dumped or burned globally every year. We believe that recycling puts them to use rather than leaving them as a potential environmentalm hazard.

A sustainable alternative to dumping & burning

ReGenEarth working in partnership with RER specialises in recycling End-of-Life Tyres (ELTs).  ELTs are sourced, shredded and processed through the revolutionary Electro-Thermic Processing technology (ETP).

An innovative and sustainable process that transforms used tyres into valuable products like oil, gas, and carbon black. Unlike traditional methods of disposal, such as burning or dumping, ETP involves heating tyres in an oxygen-free environment, breaking them down into useful raw materials.

A revolution to address a global issue

This environmentally friendly process significantly reduces pollution, helping to address the global issue of tyr waste while providing alternative sources of energy and raw materials.

Staffordshire site redevelopment announced — In partnership with…

RER

We’re excited to announce a major step forward in our partnership with RER: the redevelopment of our Staffordshire site, transitioning from biomass power generation to the next global recycling opportunity — our first commercial Tyre Electro Thermal Processing (ETP) plant.

Set to begin in late 2025, this flagship facility will use proven ETP technology to tackle the urgent global challenge of End-of-Life Tyres (ELTs). The project represents a significant milestone in our mission to transform waste into low-carbon fuel and circular economic value.

With operations expected to commence in 2026, the Staffordshire site will act as a blueprint for international expansion. We’re actively engaging with government bodies and commercial partners to identify future strategic locations in regions with high demand for sustainable fuels and favourable conditions for rollout, including tyre supply, permitting, and capital deployment.

Watch our short fly-through film for a first look at the layout and scale of this innovative project.

This development marks the next chapter in sustainable resource recovery, and we're just getting started.

The tyre Electro-Thermic Process

The innovative ETP technology simplifies the process, reducing operational risks and costs associated with older methods of pyrolysis.

This approach also generates surplus energy by harnessing the syngas produced and the exothermic reaction, allowing for the excess power to be fed back into the grid.

The vast increase in demand for sustainably sourced fuel has carved a gap for ETP to fill, by focusing on the circularity of the technology and its ability to fill the ever-increasing demand for sustainably sourced fuels and plastics, its commercial viability has increased exponentially.

ETP — It's time has come.

ETP Process

The benefits of ETP

Reduces carbon emissions

ETP helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions by converting waste tyres into alternative fuels, thereby decreasing the reliance on conventional fossil fuels.

Alternative fuel & energy generation

The fuel oil generated can serve as an alternative fuel for a range of applications, including transportation, heating, and power generation.

Reduces landfill waste

ETP tackles tyre pollution by converting waste tyres into valuable resources, easing the strain on landfills and reducing environmental pollution.
